Wee Faerie Village – Florence Griswold Museum | September 29 – October 28
Get ready to explore Lettersburg Junction, the enchanting region where faeries live in alphabetically placed houses resembling all the letters of the alphabet, from A to Z. There’s also the quaint hamlet of Numbertown and Punctuation Stations where the homes are somewhat questionable (?), excited (!), inclusive (&), trendy (#), and, of course, where it’s at (@).
The houses might be informed by the letter, an A-frame in the Alps, a Beachside Bungalow, or a Casa on the Corner or embellished with the letter (s-shaped shingles or pathways of pea-gravel). Homesteads also feature things that begin with the letter. For example, the Shoddy Shack might have snaked-shaped smoke streaming from the single smoke stack. Literally a litany of alliteration!
Lettersburg Junction will feature over three-dozen faerie-scaled places on the Museum’s campus that celebrate the alphabet in a wee faerie fun and imaginative way. 26 Letters, 5 Punctuations, and 1 to infinity Numbers. Visitors tour Lettersburg Junction with their DIRECTIONARY, and can create their very faerie house based on their initials in Letter Land.
