Opening reception Sunday, September 23, 1 – 3 pm, free and open to the public.
The Slater Memorial Museum and the City of Norwich Ellis Walter Ruley Commemoration Committee are proud to present Brought to Light: Ellis Ruley in Norwich. The exhibition, guest curated by W. Frank Mitchell, PhD, Director of the Amistad Center at the Wadsworth Atheneum, will explore Ruley’s artwork while examining the story of his life and death.
About the Slater Museum
Located on the campus of Norwich Free Academy, the Slater Museum awakens visitors to the richness and diversity of the human experience through art and history. For more than one hundred years, the Museum has displayed and interpreted the best examples of fine and decorative art, representing a broad range of world cultures of the Americas, Asia, Europe and Africa.
