‘Graveyard Whistling’ is an exploration by Ryan Whiston and Elisha Schauer into the area between the morbid and jovial. With dark themes and bright colors the duos paintings deal with topics such as; death, drug use, mental health, and sexuality.
With a sense of playfulness they paint difficult, and confusing issues surrounding our existence within our current political and socioeconomic climate. The exhibit contains mostly two-dimensional works on paper using watercolor, gouache, acrylic and spray paint. The show will also feature neon artist
Nick McKnight whose tongue-in-cheek light works blend perfectly with the paintings. The artists’ works interact with each other creating an ethereal, otherworldly environment.
