Litchfield Hills BBQ & Bourbon Special | September 22 | 5 – 8:30 pm

Join the Railroad Museum of New England as we embark on our Litchfield Hills BBQ and Bourbon Special. For this special event, we have partnered with the Maple End Package Store of Bristol, Fascia’s Chocolate of Waterbury, and the Black Rock Tavern of Thomaston and other local businesses to bring together some of the best that Litchfield County has to offer on this special evening. A total of 5 bourbon tastings will be offered, along with a BBQ dinner, cheese, and chocolates.

The train ride will begin Saturday, September 22nd at the Historic Thomaston Station, where a social hour with Bourbon will be held, along with a hearty BBQ appetizer buffet. From there, the train will depart on its trek towards East Litchfield, passing over the Thomaston Dam and along the Naugatuck River.

After arrival in East Litchfield, cheese and bourbon tastings will be served and the train will return south past the station into Waterbury, where a stop will be made at Fascia’s Chocolates. Guests will get to visit the chocolate shop and will each get a box of 4 chocolates. Upon boarding, more bourbon tastings and cheese will be served. The train will then return north to Thomaston Station, arriving at 8:30 pm. Coffee, chocolate chip cookies, and water will be served upon arrival at the station.

Saturday September 22nd, 2018

5:00 pm:     Event starts with social hour at Thomaston Station & a Hearty BBQ appetizer buffet is served along with the 1st Bourbon tasting

5:45 pm:     Passengers board the train and the 2nd Bourbon tasting is served

6:00 pm:     Train departs

6:30 pm:     Arrive at East Litchfield, Cheese is served

6:40 pm:     Depart East Litchfield, 3rd Bourbon tasting is served

7:15 pm:     Arrive at Fascia’s Chocolates, 4th Bourbon tasting is served, each passenger get box of 4 chocolates

8:00 pm:     Board at Fascia’s Chocolates, 5th Bourbon tasting is served

8:10 pm:     Depart for Thomaston Station, Cheese is served

8:30 pm:     Arrive at Thomaston Station, coffee, chocolate chip cookies, and water is served
