Tapping into Twain Beer Festival | September 28 | 5 – 10 pm

We’re tapping into the second decade of brew fests at The Mark Twain House & Museum! Our signature fundraiser, Tapping Into Twain, returns to the museum for its 11th year on Friday, September 28, 2018, at 5 p.m.

Beer, food, music, and a party fit for the original American humorist will greet you at the door. Classic brews from Charter Oak Brewing Co., Stony Creek Brewery, Alvarium Beer Co., Back East Brewery, Willimantic Brewing Co., Firefly Hollow Brewing, Broad Brook Brewing LLC, Hog River Brewing, Hanging Hills Brewing Co., and Powder Hollow Brewery along with tasty mixes from Owls Brew and Hartford Flavor Co. await. In addition to these and more local breweries, we are pleased to offer beer courtesy of the Mark Twain Brewing Co. in Hannibal, Missouri. Stay tuned: more participating breweries and restaurants will be announced as the date draws closer.

Of the many beer fests in Greater Hartford, Tapping Into Twain remains a staple. One press reviewer called the event, “absolutely, positively, without any doubt whatever, one of the best charitable events Hartford has beheld in quite some time.” It routinely draws more than 300 guests.

The Mark Twain House & Museum offers programs year-round that give insight into different sides of the larger-than-life author. So why a brew fest? Executive Director Pieter Roos says, “Mark Twain speaks to us in many ways today, but one of his most relatable interests was his fondness for a good beer. Come and enjoy one in the place where he did with some of the greatest brewers in the area.”

The event features more than 20 regional breweries, micro-breweries, and home brewers, plus more than a dozen local restaurants and live music. Prices include all food, beverages, and a collectible pint glass.
