with artist Lexi McCrady Axon & poet Christia Madacsi Hoffman

Artist Lexi McCrady Axon brings her vibrant color and light studies to our gallery space this month! With a studio in New Haven, the East Lyme-based Axon is currently an adjunct faculty member at Eastern CT State University Department of Art and Art History.

She earned an MFA from City University of New York, Hunter College, during Robert Morris and Rosalind Krauss’s tenure in 1990, and a BFA from Syracuse University School of Visual and Performing Arts. She counts Judith Rothschild, a disciple of Hans Hoffman, Elaine de Kooning and Andy Warhol, among her mentors.

Writer/Poet Christia Madacsi Hoffman shares her debut collection of poems, Intent, with us on Friday. Born from an intention to write a minimum of two lines of verse over 365 days, Hoffman spent four years writing and refining her work, publishing it in 2017. Enjoy her timeless reflections on place, beauty, youth and family.

A resident of Austin, Texas, Christia’s childhood was spent along the banks of the Mystic River. She is founder of CenterLight Media where she works as a writer, graphic designer and actor.
